Painting is, for me, both an ethnographic modality and personal practice. I draw inspiration from traditions of folklore, so-called outsider art, and iconography. I enjoy “corrupting” mainstream visual frameworks including maps, comics, Orientalist odalisques, and still-lifes. I work across media but am particularly fond of acrylic and gouache.
